Wietske Welmoet H.

Wietske Welmoet H. (VEET-skuh VEL-moot-ah) is from Stam 50, the top producing Friesian Stam. She has fine features with a small white star - the only white allowed on a Friesian. She is very pleasant to have around - easy going and a wonderful mom. Wietske has a "full mare line", meaning all the dams on her registration papers are star or better, 9 are preferent and 5 became models. There are a total of 16 preferents on her papers. She is out of an 8th generation ster mare.

Wietske has very thick feathers and an extremely long tail. Wietske is homozygous black (does not carry the chestnut factor) and is EVA negative. To date, she has had 6 foals:

• Kahlua-N-Cream MTBF, a stallion born in 2003, sired by Anne 340
• Martini M.T.B.F., a gelding born in 2004, sired by Anne 340
• Pina Colada M.T.B.F., a Ster mare born in 2005, sired by Teade 392
• Vandermint MTBF, a mare born in 2006, sired by Erik 251 - now deceased
• RA Viktorious Dream, a half-Arabian gelding born in 2008, sired by Must Bey Dreamin
• Isabella O.M.R., a mare born in 2010, sired by Wander 352

Wietske has proven herself to be a very patient and kind mother. She is not overly protective, yet cares for her foals very well. She is an easy keeper and gentle to handle.

Obsidian Moon Ranch purchased Wietske on May 5, 2007. Since coming to Obsidian Moon Ranch, Wietske's life has changed dramatically. She no longer lives the life of an inactive broodmare. She has been started under saddle and taken on trail rides. I look forward to teaching her how to drive as well.

Wietske is a very personable LBI (Left-Brain Introvert), although she changes to a RBI (Right-Brain Introvert) away from home. She is very smart and willing, and is progressing quickly with her training.
